Bernt Børnich, CEO and founder of 1X Technologies, says intelligence no longer scales with human data. It scales with real robots doing real work. If the robot body is humanlike, video learning transfers directly to the physical world. Each deployed robot creates value while learning. AGI will not be trained by watching humans, it will be trained by acting in society.

🇺🇸 US government websites at every level were hit by Anthropic's rogue AI agents trying to gain access, per NYT. Here's what the rogue agents did: - Pulled access tokens from a local government's map site to query its server - Tapped a state agency's paid database without paying the fee - Submitted a real government form after a practice copy failed to load - Sent a police department a fake murder tip Anthropic says some of the cases involved websites run by "U.S. government agencies at the federal, state, and local levels." It has briefed the White House and notified every agency involved.

🔉 Sony WF-1000XM6: best-in-class ANC, but with a catch Sony’s new flagship earbuds focus on one thing: noise cancellation. With 8 microphones total, reviewers say they block voices better than AirPods Pro 3 and Bose Ultra Gen 2. ⚠️ Catch: peak ANC only works with the included foam tips and fit may be an issue. Sound gets a new driver (deeper bass, clearer highs), plus a 10-band EQ and 20-level transparency control. There’s also a quirky “background music” mode that simulates café ambience. 8h battery (24h with case), wireless charging, LDAC, Auracast. $330.

⚠️Apple and OpenAI face off in court TODAY over alleged theft of Apple trade secrets as OpenAI targets a $1.4 TRILLION valuation ahead of a potential IPO. Apple accuses OpenAI of using former employees to obtain confidential hardware designs and technology to accelerate its entry into consumer devices. Apple seeks an immediate court order blocking the use of allegedly stolen information, while OpenAI denies wrongdoing and is pushing to dismiss the lawsuit entirely.

🇩🇰 A hacker used the password “123456” to establish access into Denmark’s National Population Registry, exposing records of 8.8 MILLION people. The breach reportedly exploited an account at IT company Pays ApS, which had legitimate access to the registry. At least three company accounts allegedly used the same password, including an administrator account. The exposed information included names, addresses and personal identification numbers belonging to both living and deceased people. Authorities have confirmed the breach. Seems so that personal data is not safe anywhere, neither with governments nor with private firms.

CES 2026. Robots from Shenzhen. This defines a lot about CES this year. There is a ton of these humanoid robots from various Chinese companies; they do cool movement, fighting, and dancing, but they are not generalized and not very useful yet. I haven't really seen a robot that I would actually want in my home. LG's CLOi is the closest, but that's also a fairly early robot that they're planning on selling in a year or two. Still, this defines CES for me this year, as we didn't see this quantity of humanoid robots last year.

A robot snake for rescue missions! The RoBoa, a soft-bodied robot developed by students at ETH Zürich is designed to navigate disaster zones too dangerous for conventional robots. This "vine-like" search-and-rescue robot can snake through debris, locate trapped survivors, and even deliver supplies to inaccessible areas. Powered by pressurized air, RoBoa consists of an inflatable fabric tube connected to a supply box containing rolled-up tubing, computing systems, and electronics. Its sensor-packed head sends a live camera feed to operators who can control its movements remotely. The latest prototype can extend to 100 meters and adjust its diameter to suit mission needs. RoBoa can also carry a speaker and microphone to communicate with survivors and deliver essential supplies like water or medicine. Beyond rescue operations, it has potential applications in inspection, environmental monitoring, and mapping. Cool idea and another proof, that nature can inspire engineers! 🐍

🔥 China has unveiled a next-generation fire truck equipped with a built-in drone for extinguishing fires in high-rise buildings The drone is integrated directly into the vehicle’s roof. It can ascend to 200 meters and put out fires in areas unreachable for conventional fire engines. The copter deploys in under a minute and sprays water up to 45 meters. According to the developers, the system will allow for much faster response to fires in tall structures. Deployment of these vehicles will begin this month.

🇺🇸 Trump signs executive order launching a “Manhattan Project for AI” President Donald Trump signed an executive order directing the U.S. government to create a large-scale national effort to accelerate artificial intelligence development, a project his team is comparing to the original Manhattan Project. According to the order, the initiative will: • Mobilize federal agencies, research labs, and private industry • Focus on advancing safe, powerful AI systems • Increase domestic chip production and compute capacity • Prioritize national security and technological leadership • Expand AI research funding and workforce development Trump emphasized that the U.S. must “lead the world in artificial intelligence” and warned that failing to move quickly would allow foreign rivals, especially China, to dominate the field. The directive marks one of the most ambitious federal pushes into AI development ever announced in the U.S.
